One Bedroom Apartment: The Second Installment

Gallery Bogart is pleased to present One Bedroom Apartment: The Second Installment, a group exhibition examining the impact of scale in contemporary artistic practice.

Taking inspiration from the collecting ethos of Herb and Dorothy Vogel, who amassed a world class collection within the confines of a 450 square foot Manhattan apartment, the exhibition challenges the assumption that monumentality equates to significance. The presentation features apartment sized works by nine distinct emerging and mid career voices. While diverse in medium and method, these artists share a capacity to condense vast narratives into concentrated forms.

Unlike a static exhibition, The Second Installment is designed to take a living form. Works are available for immediate acquisition and release, allowing the installation to evolve in real time throughout the run. As pieces are collected and depart, the gallery environment shifts to reflect the fluidity of a true domestic space.
